Is it a sign of personal weakness or strength for a woman to admit that she has a problem with alcohol or drugs?

One thing about mankind is that every one has a sense of pride that is naturally a part of their mentality. If a woman is able to admit that she has a problem in any aspect, it is a great sign of personal strength. Admitting that you are wrong or possibly have a problem is something that is hard for anyone to do and is an admirable thing. I personally like the fact that people are able to seek rehabilitation programs when they know that they have a drug or alcohol problem. If people begin to admit their problems and seek help for them when necessary, this would be a better world.

You have made some good points. I really don’t know much about addition of drugs or alcohol, because I have never been down that path, but I am sure it is difficult to stop. I guess my point is, what makes you a “weak” person? Is having the motivation suppose to be strong enough to get you to stop? If they feel like they can not physically do it does that mean that they are weak? I am not sure about that. As humans, we do have natural weaknesses that feel like they are beyond our control.

I agree with you that admitting and seeking help due to drug addiction is a sign of personal strength. It is human nature to shy away and curl on the corner than admit you have a problem; especially if the problem is drugs. I think all women who seek help due to drug addiction should be applauded and encouraged in everyway.
